Power of "NEO" is the 99th track in the UNDERTALE Soundtrack. This short and repetitive track plays when the protagonist fights Mettaton NEO near the end of the Genocide Route, or before the Alphys Ending. Its melody interpolates the opening notes of Battle Against a True Hero.
This song was reused in BIG SHOT from Deltarune Chapter 2's OST, where it features as the theme of Spamton NEO. The Japanese translation of "BIG SHOT" is "Power of [[BIG]]", directly referencing this song's title.
A small, low-quality segment of this song was featured as transit songs for Shadowguy's top 5 Chapter 3 quotes video to tease Deltarune's Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 release. This video was shared on the official UNDERTALE/DELTARUNE Bluesky[1] and Twitter.[2] In order, the songs are Deltarune's Welcome to the Green Room, Undertale's Hopes and Dreams, Stronger Monsters, Deltarune's Vapor Buster, Vs. Susie, and Undertale's Power of "NEO".
- The hidden boss of Deltarune Chapter 2 was originally going to be a "real" battle against Mettaton NEO. Toby Fox composed several mock-ups of an extended version of Power of "NEO" for this, but scrapped it when Spamton's role became solidified.[3]
